Faded Future

Hey everyone! I tried writing a poem with a song from one of my Spotify playlists by putting it on shuffle and I ended up with the gem of a song ‘Come In with the Rain’ by Taylor Swift.

The first line of the song is: “I could go back to every laugh, but I don’t want to go there anymore”

————————————————–

I could go back to every laugh,

but I don’t want to go there anymore.

It feels as though we were laughing at our own folly,

Memories once so cherished,

now polluted with feelings seeped through from the future.

The rain reminds me of our days together,

and a naive part of my heart still awaits your arrival.

Life flows ahead,

New paths that hold more love and loss,

But no river ever forgets its course.
